The Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32) has always seen favorable press from journalists around the world and for good reason!Its nickname is well deserved thanks to the 2.6 L RB26DETT I6 producing 276 HP and 266 lb·ft of torque.To tame that power Nissan built it to a curb weight of 1,430 kg and made it all-wheel drive.Power and maneuverability; a very powerful combination which is why we’re very happy to add the Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32) B-Spec to Need for Speed World!
But it does have an interesting history behind it; this Skyline was built to compete in Group A racing and it was originally tested a twin turbocharged 2350cc version of the RB20 engine. With that power plant it produced 313 HP and used a RWD drivetrain. Due to certain Group A regulations around engine displacement, it would have required the Skyline to run on 10-inch wide tires. Because of this Nissan made the decision to make the car all-wheel drive and developed a special motorsport-oriented AWD system for this purpose called the ATTESA E-TS.But this wasn’t enough; there were many more modifications that were made to make to bring it within regulation.
Because of the vast difference in the production model of the R32 and the model they used to race in Group A Nissan was required to also build and sell a model of the Skyline GT-R which more accurately reflected the car they used for racing. You know this car as the Nissan Skyline GT-R ‘Nismo’ edition.
But enough history!The Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32) B-Spec comes with a blue & black custom livery complete with NFS GT1 number panels and logos.We them added a carbon fiber roof panel, carbon fiber hood and wide body kit for endurance racing.It all sites on BBS racing wheels and is completed with a custom “R32-GTR” license plate.
